3 Easy Overnight Oats Recipes that are so Worth Trying

Overnight oats have exploded in popularity in recent years, not only for the fact that they're comprised of oats and other healthy ingredients, but that it's also ideal for convenience's sake; just prep it the night before, and all you have to do is roll out of bed and open your fridge- and boom! You have your breakfast all ready for you to eat. As someone who is slightly obsessed with oats and the idea to eat them in any way possible, here are 3 of my favorite ways to make overnight oats that will not only be easy, but each one will be packed with a unique flavor of its own.

  1. Peanut Butter and Jelly Overnight Oats

I know, this may sound disgusting to some. My mom scrunched her nose at the mere thought of this when I first mentioned it to her, but trust me, it's absolutely delicious. I do reccommend going easy on the jelly though, unless you enjoy your food being really really sweet.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup oats

1/2 cup milk of choice

1/4 cup nonfat Greek yogurt (I use Lightfit vanilla Greek yogurt because I prefer the taste)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon honey

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon strawberry jam

1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter

¼ cup strawberries

2 tablespoons peanuts

Just mix all of this together, pop it in the fridge overnight, and you have yourself a delicious and easy breakfast!

  1. Banoffee Overnight Oats

This is one that I had personally never heard of before prior to finding the recipe. I had no idea what "banoffee" was, so for others who may not know, banoffee is actually a kind of pie that's popular in the United Kingdom, and is typically made with banana slices, whipped cream, and caramel sauce.

Ingredients:

Banoffee Oats Layer:

1/4 banana, mashed

1/2 cup oats

1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

1/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons milk

Vanilla Cream Layer:

1/2 cup yogurt

1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Caramel Layer:

1 1/2 tablespoons nut butter of choice

3/4 tablespoon maple syrup

pinch of salt

Toppings:

1/4 banana, sliced

1 tablespoon yogurt

chocolate chips

If you want to be fancy and mix all the layers separately and place them on top of one another to have a dish that's equally delicious and beautiful, nobody's gonna stop you, go for it! However, if you're like me and you don't always feel up to the task of being fancy and you're gonna mix everything together before you eat it anyways, it tastes just as good if you just dump all of this in a bowl and mix it together to sit in the fridge overnight.

  1. Cinnamon Roll Overnight Oats

I know this sounds too good to be true but trust me these cinnamon roll overnight oats are amazing! It may not be the same warm and gooey center of a cinnamon roll you could make on a weekend, but when you need something quick on a workday, this is a great substitute that still tastes really good!

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons vanilla protein powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 cup oats

1/2 cup milk

1/4 cup yogurt

Just throw everything together, and it's done! An easy and healthy alternative to some delicious cinnamon rolls!

And that concludes my three overnight oats recipes! If you've read this far into my blog, thank you so much! It means a lot to know that at least one person has read this far into my first blog post ever! I can't even believe I'm saying that. I've always dreamed of writing somehow some way and now it's real! If you enjoyed this or are interested in seeing something else for me to write and discuss here, comment some ideas and let me know! I'm free and open to talking about anything appropriate and nonconfrontational (just know that if it's a religious question, I am a Christian and I will talk about it from my Christ-based perspective.) Again, thank you so much for reading this, and I'll be publishing once a week! See you then!
